Does he mean friend in the facebook sense, or reality? Anyway, first the al Qaeda bit:
Leader Moammar Gadhafi says al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden is behind the uprising in Libya and al-Qaida followers give young Libyans hallucinogenic pills in their coffee to get them to revolt. …
He says those revolting are “loyal to bin Laden … This is al-Qaida that the whole world is fighting.”
He says al-Qaida militants are “exploiting” teenagers, giving them “hallucinogenic pills in their coffee with milk, like Nescafe.”
Nescafe as terror weapon? Totten never mentioned that little detail in his Libya reporting.
As for the “friend” part, it’s from last April, but more relevant now than then?
Gaddafi praised Barack Obama, called him a “friend” and said there is no longer any dispute between his country and the US.
Speaking in the Libyan city of Sirt at an event marking the 24th anniversary of an American attack on Libya, he said, “At the time, we were the target of the American cannon, the American navy challenged us in the gulf of Sirt and attacked us all along Libya’s shores. America tested Libya, and the Libyan people resisted the large country, but today, thank God, the difference is great.”
He said, “Now, ruling America is a black man from our continent, an African from Arab descent, from Muslim descent, and this is something we never imagined – that from Reagan we would get to Barakeh Obama.”
“…that from Reagan we would get to Barakeh Obama.” You ain’t the only one who’s shocked at that particular transition, Muammar.
