For the first time since Super Bowl 3, there will be no cheerleaders Sunday. The Pittsburgh Steelers dispensed with cheerleaders in 1970, preferring to focus on top quality football for the next four decades. The Green Bay Packers refuse to go all-in with cheerleaders, instead essentially renting college squads for home games in Green Bay. I’m not sure what is worse – having cheerleaders to amp up a futile football experience, or, rotating a variety of college cheerleaders into an NFL stadium. Either way, the sometimes Green Bay cheerleaders won’t be making the trip. They’ll be glad they didn’t. Steelers 27- 17.
