The Forbidden City

Ban first, ask questions later. How bad has the knee-jerk propensity of San Francisco’s city government to ban everything in sight gotten? So bad that the city’s alternative newspaper — the one that’s further to the left than even the San Francisco Chronicle (and yes, that’s entirely possible), is complaining in an article that should be very readable even to those of us outside the city limits mentally and/or geographically.

In 2008, Former PJM contributor Richard Miniter wrote, “In the 1950s, the most puritanical place in America was somewhere in Kansas. Today it is Los Angeles.”

With its reflexive, never-ending ban urge, I’d say another California city about 500 miles north has since surpassed it.
