FBI Director Comey's Remarks Were Devastating to Hillary

Anyone who watched FBI Director James Comey deliver his remarks today can attest to his seriousness. His comments were devastating to Hillary Clinton. His phrase that she was “extremely careless,” as a legal expert said on Fox News, is the term used for “gross negligence.” She clearly was guilty of violating that statute and worthy of being tried for it; of facing the proscribed sentencing guidelines for it.

I’m not a lawyer, and I await Andy McCarthy’s response to spell it out. (UPDATE: Here’s McCarthy’s analysis.) The question is why Comey did not recommend indictment considering the remainder of his comments. What she did was dangerous and undoubtedly resulted in foreign nations hacking her e-mails — and obviously, that was the disastrous result the law intended to prevent.

She will claim it’s a victory and emphasize that no criminal action will be taken, and she will ignore everything else. But her campaign and credibility has been damaged severely.

In my eyes, both candidates have major flaws. I believe Hillary Clinton has a sound foreign policy, but that is not enough for me. Although in my blue state she will win the vote (Maryland), I will write in a personal choice. I cannot vote for either candidate.
