Roger L. Simon

I wasn't invited...

… and neither was Faye Resnick… but I sure would have wanted to go to Johnnie Cochran’s funeral — and not just because Stevie Wonder provided the music. It seems to have been the most theatrical event of its type for some time — well, East (or West!) of Rome, anyway. OJ was there, of course.

The LA Times noted: The 3 1/2 -hour funeral, as extravagant as Cochran’s colorful suits, lasted longer than it took the jury to deliberate the fate of Simpson, his most famous client, who sat among the 5,000 worshipers at the West Angeles Cathedral in South Los Angeles.

OJ opined of the man who got him off: “He was a Christian man. He just happened to be a great lawyer.”
