Why Crony Capitalism isn’t Capitalism

One thing I’ve always admired about the poet Horace is the way he lived up to his injunction to delight as well as instruct.  There aren’t too many contemporary writers who manage that feat but one who never fails is the brilliant and extremely funny novelist Andrew Klavan.  Drew is probably best known for his thrillers, but he has also recently emerged as a video star on YouTube.  His political videos deliver that short, sharp, shock Koko and his friends sang about in the Mikado.  They are timely, rapier-like in their wit, and admirably grown-up in their political perspective.  You can find an evening’s entertainment and enlightenment worth of videos with a quick search on YouTube.  And don’t miss his latest production, “Why Crony Capitalism Isn’t Capitalism.”
