The famous Golem of Prague may be needed today to look into the explosion in that gorgeous city where Sheryl and I made a movie. Czech authorities are immediately blaming the violence outside a gambling casino off Wenceslas Square on a grenade thrown by racketeers. Who can blame them? Prague’s economy runs on tourism. In summer, the historic center is so crowded it is hard to walk. Terrorism would be a disaster for them. I hope the authorities are right. And Wenceslas Square is well known as a battle ground between the Czech and Russian mafias – at least it was when I was there.
