The Green and the Red

James Delingpole notes that the Guardian thinks this 10:10 campaign’s ‘No Pressure’ film is good marketing — “attention getting”.  It’s a plug for environmentalism. “‘Clearly we don’t really think they should be blown up, that’s just a joke for the mini-movie, but maybe a little amputating would be a good place to start?’ jokes 10:10 founder and Age of Stupid film maker Franny Armstrong.”

No pressure.

Cool.

Boom.

Ha ha ha ha ha.

How would they construct this red button?  From windmill parts? No. They will get us to build it.

They will get technology, which they despise, to build their instruments of control for them. They themselves cannot.

Then boom.

The power of the Party, Orwell noted, is power over the mind of man.

It has no power over nature. The man-gods cannot talk to God.

They have to talk to God to build the button. Listen to the laws of science. The same laws, which through evolution, created us in Deep Time, and will create us again should the Greens find a way to destroy us.

The laws of nature, which they pretend to respect, are commandments they will scarcely listen to. The radical Greens are anti-science and before science was science, it went by the name of Natural Philosophy, authored by the same source which has given men unalienable rights.

So they will make the men who can still talk to God, who can make out the voice of natural philosophy, build the red button for them. They’ll do it through their control of education, the media, public discourse and the minting of memes. Then — boom, ha ha ha ha — the man-gods will still the Voice forever and have their dominion.

Or so they think.

Yet they may be in for a surprise. People are learning that the fundamental political task of the 21st century is to take back our minds and our freedom from the totalitarian instincts of the 20th century. The word is spreading.

Maybe it will take the form of decentralization, or a form of direct democracy we are only still developing. Maybe it will take the form of Interstate Compacts or Amendments to constitution. But however it may be, we will build the red button, the one marked “freedom”. And then boom. Their red button will vanish forever. Ha ha ha ha.
