Incumbent Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is showing what he’s made of. Politico reports he was just one vote shy of the winner in the first round, Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus, 45 to 44. This is a stronger showing than many expected for the embattled Steele. Yet they have a long way to go. The winner needs 85 votes to prevail. Five candidates are vying for the seat.
