After the neo-Nazis used the removal of a confederate statue in Charlottesville as their lightening rod for havoc, and after President Trump stated that he was concerned with the slippery slope of monuments removal, the U.S. Department of Interior has weighed in. They said that they will not be tearing down any Civil War statues or monuments, from either side, in any of the battlefields or national parks that they operate.
