Fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana are no strangers to the progressive left’s ire.
Last year, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana had some politically incorrect things to say about same-sex families and those opinions were not well-received. The duo said that children born through IVF treatment were “children of chemistry, synthetic children. Uteruses for rent, semen chosen from a catalog.”
“I am gay, I cannot have a child. I guess you cannot have everything in life,” Dolce added. “Life has a natural course, some things cannot be changed. One is the family.”
The pair even had a hashtag created for their remarks — #BoycottDolceGabbana.
Now, the Italian design duo are back in the cross-hairs of the left.
After Melania — a longtime client of the Italian brand — wore a black Dolce & Gabbana cocktail dress with bows on each shoulder, Stefano Gabbana thanked her via Instagram with “#madeinitaly” and called her a “DG Woman.” Gabbana’s post had generated more than 13,000 likes and 1,129 comments as of Tuesday afternoon. Among other things, the designer called her “a beautiful woman,” and chided her critics as “ignorant.”

One commenter wrote: “No! Whether she’s beautiful or not, would you be proud to dress Eva Braun? So wrong.” Is that a fair comparison? The left is so unhinged.
After Donald Trump was elected, designer Sophie Theallet asked other designers to refuse to dress the new first lady. Some designers like Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs have signed on with Theallet. Other designers, like Tommy Hilfiger, Diane von Furstenberg and Carolina Herrera, would have no issue designing for the future first lady.
