Sen. Chuck Schumer was having a difficult time getting through his Senate floor speech early Wednesday morning. Apparently, Republicans weren’t on the edge of their seats swooning over every golden word flowing from his slick lips. It seems there was some GOP chitchatting going on during Schumer’s tedious speech about a future reckoning for the GOP over “The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.” He warned that Republicans would “rue the day” they did this.

Several times during the speech Schumer called for order, asking Jeff Flake, who was presiding over the Senate during the tax bill vote, to tell them to knock it off. When he just couldn’t take it anymore he lashed out at Republicans: “This is serious stuff. We believe you’re messing up America,” he shouted. “You could pay attention for a couple of minutes.”
