As the 2020 Democratic presidential primary heats up, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said that it’s never too late for lawmakers to pursue the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
“I think there’s the work of campaigning and then there’s the work of actually legislating when we’re here in this body. I think we’ve got a lot to do with 2020 but that’s on the campaign side. When we’re here at work we need to carry out part of our duties,” Ocasio-Cortez said on Tuesday following the House Judiciary Committee hearing with former Trump campaign manager Cory Lewandowski.
“And I believe part of our duties is impeachment of the president and holding the administration accountable in addition to fighting for health care, housing, wages, etcetera and so I don’t think it’s ever too late for us to do our jobs,” she added.
