During the CNN LGBT Democratic town hall on Thursday, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) took the obnoxious step of announcing her pronouns. CNN’s Chris Cuomo made light of the situation, joking that his pronouns are also “she, her, and hers.”
The trend of announcing one’s pronouns is indeed mockworthy, as it represents caving to the transgender movement’s attempt to control language. According to transgender ideology, gender identity means more than biological sex, so people should never assume the pronouns of another person. Someone who is biologically female could go by male pronouns, and everyone should be forced to use whatever pronouns the person prefers.
When Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) added pronouns to her Twitter page, Miriam Ben-Shalom — the first lesbian to be reinstated to the U.S. Army after being kicked out for her sexual orientation — called out this “pronoun silliness.”
“Instead of pandering to the trans lobby, may I respectfully request that you look at what women are losing in terms of sports, safety, medical services, parental rights, and basic human rights, such as the right to privacy, not to mention the horrors of medical experimentation on children by trans-supporting Big Pharma and Big Medicine,” Ben-Shalom wrote.
Cuomo used Harris’ pronoun silliness as an opportunity to make a joke. When Harris said “My pronouns are she, her, and hers,” Cuomo retorted, “Mine too.”

It was not a particularly good joke, and if the CNN host really wanted to push back against the pronoun silliness there are many ways he could have been more respectful about it. The wokescolds naturally took offense. Perhaps the higher-ups at CNN had a word or two for their errant host. Cuomo must have been feeling the heat, because he apologized on Twitter.
“PLEASE READ: When Sen. Harris said her pronouns were she her and her’s, I said mine too. I should not have. I apologize,” Cuomo tweeted. “I am an ally of the LGBTQ community, and I am sorry because I am committed to helping us achieve equality. Thank you for watching our townhall.”

Conservative commentator Michael Knowles had the perfect response: “I am literally shaking from [Chris Cuomo]’s transphobic bigotry,” he tweeted.

Americans may never know who made Cuomo feel the heat, but this apology seemed rather desperate. Sure, his joke was tasteless, but announcing pronouns is silly.
