Planned Parenthood President Champions Adoption ... For Dogs

On Tuesday, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards posted a tweet advocating adoption, but not for the millions of “unwanted” unborn babies her organization puts to death every year. Rather, Richards advocated the saving of dogs through adoption, while participating in the killing of millions of humans.

“Heading out on book tour for TWO WEEKS! Going to miss this guy though Garfield, not so much,” Richards tweeted, using the hashtag “AdoptDontShop,” a call for would-be pet owners to adopt stray dogs rather than going to a pet shop to purchase them.

Adopting these animals would prevent them from being “put down,” the euphemism for killing unwanted dogs, not dissimilar to the way terms like “abortion” and “fetus” are used to obscure the fact that the procedure involves putting an unborn human being to death.

According to Planned Parenthood’s annual statement, the nation’s largest abortion provider carried out the baby-killing procedure more than 320,000 times last year. In fact, every other kind of service Planned Parenthood provides declined in 2017, with the exception of abortion.

Total services declined nearly 13 percent, prenatal care dropped by more than 60 percent, and total cancer screening and prevention services decreased by more than 41 percent. The number of unique patients to Planned Parenthood clinics fell by 600,000 — a 20 percent decline. Roughly 100 facilities have closed their doors.

Abortion, however, continues to drive the organization. In the past five years, Planned Parenthood performed approximately 126 abortions for every adoption referral.

Consider the outcry if Cecile Richards orchestrated the “putting down” of 126 dogs for every dog put up for adoption.

The organization that carries out this heinous crime against unborn babies receives federal funding — despite federal investigations into the alleged illegal selling of fetal baby parts. Indeed, according to a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report, specific Planned Parenthood affiliates under federal investigation into selling baby parts received $544 million in federal taxes between 2013 and 2015.

Despite her organization’s record of pushing death over adoption for unborn babies, Cecile Richards publicly stood for adoption in the case of dogs. How perverse.
