Shortly after news broke that former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, liberals began mocking him for leading chants of “Lock Her Up!” at the Republican National Convention last year. These chants suggested former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton should be imprisoned for various scandals, especially the infamous Uranium One deal.
“Reminder: Flynn chanted ‘lock her up’ at the RNC, said ‘If I did a tenth, a tenth of what she did, I would be in jail,'” Kyle Griffin, producer of MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” tweeted Friday.

Griffin seemed to suggest that Flynn had done at least “a tenth” of what Clinton did.
Chris Hayes, host of MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes,” merely said, “Lock her up, amirite?”

David Axelrod, former advisor to Barack Obama, mentioned Paul Manafort, Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman, who has been charged in the Robert Mueller investigation, the same investigation which led to Flynn’s guilty plea.

Despite liberals’ gloating, the Mueller investigation is not the only scandal centering on a 2016 presidential candidate to heat up recently. Recent revelations about Fusion GPS, the company Clinton’s campaign and the DNC paid to produce the Trump-Russia dossier, and its connections with Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who approached Donald Trump Jr., suggested a theory that Clinton might have orchestrated at least some of the Trump-Russia scandal.
Russian spies also attempted to infiltrate Clinton’s network, and the FBI acted quickly to arrest them right before Clinton approved the Russian company Rosatom acquiring U.S. uranium in the Uranium One deal. This deal followed closely after a Russian bank promoting Uranium One stock paid Bill Clinton a hefty speaking fee. Recently revealed documents seemed to confirm the corruption previously reported by Peter Schweizer in The New York Times in 2015.
Even so, the Flynn news proved particularly problematic for the Trump team.
Flynn’s guilty plea involved false statements he made to the FBI. Before Trump’s inauguration, the former national security advisor had asked the Russian ambassador not to retaliate to sanctions imposed by President Obama. The ambassador also told Flynn he would moderate Russia’s retaliation.
The White House has insisted that Flynn’s guilty plea does not implicate “anyone other than Mr. Flynn.” Even so, this news is a blow to the Trump administration, and it will add more fuel to the fire in the Left’s Trump-Russia narrative.
Expect even more gloating tweets about Flynn, Trump, and others deserving the same fate they wished on Hillary Clinton: “Lock her up!”
