Is Nancy Pelosi Losing Her Mind?

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has been in Congress for a long time. She was first elected to Congress in 1987, after all. While that may be a ringing endorsement for term limits, she’s still in Congress and the people of her district keep electing her.

However, I’m starting to think the strain of being in Congress for over 30 years is getting to her.

First, on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” Pelosi argued that the GOP’s refusal to go along with Barack Obama’s agenda was racism.

“Let me remind you that when the Republicans took power when President Obama was president of the United States, what Mitch McConnell said is the most important thing we can do is to make sure he does not succeed,” she argued.

She added, “If that wasn’t a racist statement — that is unthinkable. We worked with President Bush although we had our differences. You don’t make a statement to make sure the president doesn’t succeed. Why did he say that? Why did he say that? So I think that when you ask that question, you’re attributing a higher set of values to the speaker and to leader McConnell than is worthy of their actions.”

Meanwhile, she completely ignores that her party has also been working to completely undermine a president’s agenda. Democrats in Congress have tried to block anything and everything President Trump has proposed. His successes have only happened because Democrats are a minority.

Further, she forgets that President Obama’s agenda was a grand progressive agenda that was at odds with everything the Republican Party stands for. McConnell’s comments weren’t racist, they were merely acknowledging the radical agenda Obama had in mind for the American people. It’s unlikely that McConnell would have felt differently about a Hillary Clinton platform or a Bernie Sanders agenda.

But we kind of expect that from Pelosi. Democrats have been beating the racism drum regarding Obama since the start of his first term and have never been able to accept that opposition to the man may have had to do with his politics and not his skin tone.

However, Pelosi also seems to think she has enemies in the mainstream media.

On that same MSNBC show, Pelosi told fill-in host Jonathan Capehart that she feels NBC is working against her.

“First of all, I know NBC has been on a jag, this is one of their priorities to undermine my prospects as speaker,” she told Capehart.

The network’s sin, apparently, is reporting on the growing disquiet in the Democrats’ ranks about the prospect of Pelosi getting another run at speaker of the House. The fact that her first tenure ended with Republicans taking back Congress may have some bearing on that, but not in Pelosi’s mind. It has to be because of NBC.

Now, let’s be clear here. The mainstream media is biased as hell and it doesn’t take much examination to see it. However, they’re far more likely to side with Pelosi over anyone on the right side of the aisle, so why is she lashing out at them for reporting the truth?

Oh, right. That’s only acceptable when the truth hurts Republicans.

However, all of this indicates that Pelosi can’t clearly see reality. She can’t see that opposition to Obama had nothing to do with race and had everything to do with a radical leftist agenda, and she can’t see that opposition to her as speaker has to do with her past failures and that she represents everything these candidates hate about the Democratic establishment.

Nope. It’s all got to be a plot.

Maybe she should hang out with Alex Jones for a little while and see how to really do conspiracy theories. If she’s going to make them up in her own head, she could at least be entertaining about it.
