In case you have been away from the news today, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is having a rough day.
After several allegations of sexual misconduct were brought to light, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo called for the resignation of his chief law enforcement officer, and multiple sources are now reporting that Schneiderman has stepped down.
Democrats in New York are no stranger to sexual scandals, of course. A little over ten years ago, then-Governor Eliot Spitzer resigned just a couple of months after taking office.
Former congressman Anthony Weiner’s bad habits are well known at this point.
One person who probably isn’t surprised about all of this is President Trump, who had this to say back in 2013:
Who knows what the president was talking about back then — it could have been something completely unrelated. It’s apparent he knew something though.
No one else did, it seems. Shortly after Trump took office, Politico featured Schneiderman as the emerging poster boy for the Trump resistance.
If you’re looking for bitter irony on steroids, Schneiderman was running point for the New York #MeToo crowd and suing Harvey Weinstein. A press release from Schneiderman’s office explained:
New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today filed suit against The Weinstein Company (“TWC”), Harvey Weinstein, and Robert Weinstein for egregious violations of New York’s civil rights, human rights, and business laws. The suit, filed today in New York County Supreme Court, includes new and extensive allegations about longtime company CEO Harvey Weinstein’s (“HW”) vicious and exploitative mistreatment of company employees. Today’s suit includes numerous employee-victim accounts of sexual harassment, intimidation, and other misconduct.
According to the Attorney General’s (“OAG”) lawsuit, despite many complaints to TWC’s human resources department and widespread knowledge across the company’s leadership of HW’s persistent misconduct, TWC executives and the Board repeatedly failed to take meaningful steps to protect company employees or curb HW’s misconduct.

It gets worse:

The big takeaway here seems to be this: beware of liberal male feminists who are the loudest about #MeToo.
They’re trying to distract you.
