Marco Rubio Gets Clobbered for Missing Omnibus Vote

After suggesting he could stall the vote on the infamous omnibus spending bill, Senator Marco Rubio skipped the vote.

Perhaps Rubio and his advisers thought missing the vote would enable him to stay friends with the establishment while he could — at the same time — tell conservative voters that he opposed the bill, just like they did.

And this from a guy who’s already under fire for constantly missing votes in the Senate, and who’s publicly proclaimed that he’s “frustrated” being a senator, which is why he’s running for president.

It sounded good in theory, but it worked out slightly differently in practice.

Afterwards, Rubio posted a Facebook update with footage from the campaign trail, to show his supporters how earnest he is in the quest for the White House. That’s when things went horribly wrong:
