Rep. Chaffetz Says He Gets Tons of Death Threats and the 'U.S. Attorneys Don't Prosecute These Things'

Outgoing Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) says he’s received tons of death threats. Fox News played a voicemail one and read an email one, and both were graphic. The voicemail threat contained this sentence: “We’re going to hunt your *** down, wrap a rope around your neck, and hang you.” But Chaffetz says that “the U.S. attorneys don’t prosecute these things.” He fears for his colleagues’ safety, as the political vitriol becomes louder and more vociferous. Chaffetz exclaimed, “There has to be better ways to protect members of Congress.”
