Actually, That Was a Bad Idea

This week the New York Times thought it was a good idea to publish an opinion piece by a Mr. Eric X. Li called Why China’s Political Model is Superior.

I’m not going to rebut this. A rebuttal would insult the intelligence of pretty much everyone here. I will, however, point out that Moammar Qaddafi used similar anti-liberal “logic” in his Green Book. (I know. I actually wasted time reading it for a while.)

Maybe the editors think this piece is “thought-provoking” and “smart,” but I doubt it. I also doubt they agree with the argument. But, ooh, it’s so edgy. And open-minded. And “brave.” And transgressive!

Opinion pieces like this offend the average American, but the Times is obviously well beyond caring.
