The midterm elections are less than a month away, and Democrats want you to believe they're running on affordability. Don't buy it. The Democrat Party wants power for two reasons, and they have nothing to do with making life better for Americans. They want to punish their enemies and stay in power. Everything we learned this week about the Biden years proves it, and everything Democrats have said since 2024 tells us what comes next.
The weaponization of government under Joe Biden was huge and brazen, and a new Department of Justice report on the administration's targeting of parents shows how far it went. In September 2021, the National School Boards Association (NSBA) sent the Biden administration a letter urging it to deal with the "immediate threat" parents supposedly posed to schools. The letter asked the administration to treat parents who spoke out as "equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism."
Those parents weren't criminals. They showed up at school board meetings and objected to critical race theory, mask mandates, and vaccine mandates. Then-Attorney General Merrick Garland answered with a memo titled "Partnership Among Federal, State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Law Enforcement to Address Threats Against School Administrators, Board Members, Teachers, and Staff," which put the DOJ to work helping investigate and prosecute them. Garland ordered the FBI to huddle with law enforcement at every level, and the federal government opened twenty-five preliminary assessment files on "school board threats." The NSBA later admitted that "there was no justification for some of the language included in the letter."
Even Biden's own people knew better.
According to the report, senior DOJ officials and Biden loyalists "initially pushed back" on the NSBA's request, "questioning the constitutionality of the request." One email shows Kevin Chambers, then the associate deputy attorney general, calling the push to enlist federal law enforcement and brand parents as domestic terrorists "ridiculous." The department did it anyway. The report says the DOJ "moved ahead with issuing the Garland Memorandum based on pressure from Biden Administration officials in the White House and leadership at the Office of the Deputy Attorney General ('ODAG') at the Department of Justice."

Trump's victory in 2017 broke the Democrats, and their desire to punish him and those who supported him has only grown over the years. They've also become far more brazen about what they're willing to do and what they're willing to admit they'll do. When they won the majority in 2018, they impeached Trump, something they'd planned before he even took office in 2017. When he was out of office, they tried to put him in prison. Since he won in 2024, they've made it perfectly clear that their key objectives are a slew of silly investigations, and a third impeachment is likely.
Democrats don’t need the White House to pursue their plans to investigate Trump and his associates. A Democrat-controlled Congress would give them subpoena power, committee leadership, and the resources to haul Americans before congressional committees, demand records, and make their lives miserable—all while searching for something, anything, no matter how ridiculous, resembling a crime they could use to impeach him.
A party that treats government as a weapon never puts that weapon down after losing an election. It waits, and it comes back angrier. Democrats will promise voters affordability and deliver blatant lawfare, because revenge is the only agenda they have left. Power in their hands is a threat to every American who dares to disagree with them. We need to remember that in November and not give them the chance.
