There are moments in politics that pull back the curtain entirely — not with a dramatic revelation, but with something far more telling: silence. Democrats fancy themselves the party of tolerance. And perhaps that’s true, because they seem more willing than ever to tolerate hatred and bigotry within their own ranks as long as they’ll vote the right way.
This weekend, one of the most prominent voices in the Democratic Party, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), stood before a packed crowd, heaping praise on a Senate candidate with a documented history of antisemitism, racist Reddit posts, and a Nazi SS tattoo on his chest. She called him a man of "values." She said she couldn't wait to fight alongside him.
What does that tell you about the party she represents?
Warren, the vice chair of Senate Democratic Conference, traveled to Portland, Maine, on Saturday to rally with Graham Platner, the Democratic frontrunner in the race to unseat Republican Sen. Susan Collins. Warren was in full campaign mode, framing Platner as a crusader against billionaires and corporate PAC money, blah, blah, blah.

"I can't wait to wade into that fight alongside Graham Platner," Warren said, referring to the push for universal health care. She called him "a man who not only has the values, but a man who believes in accountability, and we need a little accountability coming out of Washington right now." Warren had first endorsed Platner in March, saying he would "actually deliver change for working people in the Senate."
What she didn't mention is the part that should disqualify him from any serious political career.
As we’ve covered here at PJ Media plenty of times, Platner has a Totenkopf tattoo — the skull and crossbones symbol used by the Nazi SS. He initially claimed he didn’t know what it was when he got it. Still, more recently, he blamed military culture for his getting the tattoo in the first place, which is a pretty clear admission that he knew exactly what it was and was just trying to absolve himself of responsibility for it.
Then there are the Reddit posts. Platner spent much of the early campaign apologizing for a string of offensive comments, including posts calling white rural Mainers “racist and stupid,” questioning why Black people “don’t tip” — which is quite racist itself — blaming sexual assault victims for their own rapes, and using homophobic slurs.. And in 2014, he praised a Hamas raid that killed five Israeli soldiers, calling it "a damn fine looking and successful raid."
Racist. Misogynistic. Antisemitic.
The values of the Democratic Party.
Naturally, Warren never said a word about the Nazi tattoo, the racist posts, etc., because none of that matters to the left as long as you are all in on the far-left socialist agenda. Apparently, as long as you say bad things about billionaires, it doesn’t matter if you say bad things about black people, Jews, or women.
What's so maddening about all of this is that Democrats have spent decades — decades — calling every Republican they disagree with a Nazi. It’s been a reflex. But now that an actual candidate with an actual Nazi SS tattoo and actual Hamas-praising posts is running in their primary, they're not running away from him. They're filling ballrooms for him, showering him with praise and insisting that he has the values to serve in the Senate.
I've been saying for years that Barack Obama made antisemitism fashionable in the Democratic Party. What Warren did in Portland on Saturday is proof that they're not even bothering to hide it anymore. The enthusiasm is real. The high-profile endorsements are real. And the bigotry they've always pretended to oppose? That's real, too — as long as the candidate hates billionaires enough.
Elizabeth Warren just showed you what Democratic values actually look like. Pay attention.
