For weeks now, the legacy media have salivated over whispers of chaos ripping through the Republican ranks. They've painted vivid pictures of infighting, betrayal, and a party on the brink of collapse — I’m only exaggerating slightly — which President Trump's decisive moves against Iran's terror machine sparked. Pundits promised fireworks, a full-scale revolt that would hand Democrats the midterms on a silver platter. But as the dust settles from the latest cable news hit job, one question lingers: where's the civil they were promised?
The attempt to push this narrative was almost immediately after the joint strikes on Iran's nuclear and military sites. Allegedly, there was “major blowback" from MAGA purists and warnings of a “civil war” brewing. It was music to the ears of every Never Trumper still nursing grudges from 2016.
Even worse, former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, once Trump's fiercest defender in Congress, is playing into this hype on Monday's edition of The Situation Room.
“This is absolutely absurd. And it's 100 percent a betrayal to what MAGA was supposed to be when we voted in 2024, and it's turned into some perverted, deranged version of MAGA now that nobody wants. And a lot of people are just like, this doesn't make sense,” she said. “And I will go further, Pamela. We love our military. And God bless the men and women serving. And we love their families. And we do not want to see flag-draped coffins coming home in a war that does nothing for our own homeland.”
And this she bizarrely blamed the GOP for the failure to fund the Department of Homeland Security.
“And then I want to add on something else. How insulting is it to Americans that the GOP can't even fund Homeland Security right now, our own government that protects our own homeland, while they're waging some war like 6,800 miles away in a country that none of us have ever been to against the foreign people that none of us know, killing many of these people, even to the point of killing their children?
Umm, she realizes that the Democrats are holding up the funding, right?
But I digress.

Moving on from Greene serving as a useful idiot for the left, there’s no indication in the polls of anything resembling a civil war in the GOP, and certainly not about Iran.
CNN's early-March survey showed that 59% of all Americans disapproved of the strikes, with many fretting over a possible long slog ahead. That includes 82% of Democrats disapproving, 68% of independents disapproving, 77% Republicans approving.
Yeah. Approving. On top of that, 58% of Republicans believe it'll neuter Iran's threat, and 83% trusting Trump has a plan. Even better, MAGA Republicans crush it: 30 points more "strongly approve" than non-MAGA GOPers, 34 points surer the strikes work, and nearly 50 points more confident in Trump's force calls.
Making matters worse for the “MAGA Civil War” narrative is the fact that more recent polling shows increased support for the strikes on Iran. The latest Washington Post poll found support for the strikes not only increasing but also achieving a plurality.
The media keeps hunting for fractures that don't exist because they’re trying to create them, not report on them. They've bet big on division since Trump's first term, and lost each time.
