Evidence Doesn’t Lie, Even When the Left Does

After years of the Biden administration weaponizing the Justice Department against President Trump, Democrats are now trying to rewrite the story, painting him as a vindictive dictator using the justice system to punish his enemies. But there is an inconvenient truth they are refusing to acknowledge: the people being charged actually committed crimes. These aren’t political witch hunts—they’re real criminal cases supported by evidence the left never had against Trump.

Take John Bolton, for instance. The former national security advisor surrendered to federal authorities Friday after being hit with 18 counts related to mishandling classified materials. And we're not talking about a few mislabeled memos tucked away in Joe Biden’s garage. According to the indictment, Bolton allegedly transmitted classified national defense information and unlawfully retained documents containing details on future attacks, covert operations, intelligence strategies, and sensitive sources. Legal analysts are calling the materials "classified at the highest levels," and the evidence? "Very damning," to put it mildly.

And Bolton can’t use the “elderly man with a poor memory’ defense that Joe Biden could.

George Washington University law professor and Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley didn't mince words when he described what's at stake. "This information can get people killed," he warned. He explained that exposing intelligence sources and methods carries "really threatening consequences for national security." Former federal prosecutor and Fox News host Trey Gowdy echoed that assessment, calling the case "very, very serious" and noting it involves "the gravest secrets that this country has." Gowdy went further, claiming that "millions of documents over years" could be compromised.

“I mean, this is the type of information that if it gets out, can reveal sources and methods that represent really threatening consequences for national security,” he added, before pointing to the fact that, according to reports, "Iran accessed Bolton's email at his home," potentially exposing sensitive data to one of America's most dangerous adversaries.

Bolton, naturally, issued a statement insisting he's dedicated his life to America's foreign policy and national security. "I would never compromise those goals," he said, recalling his service "during my tenure in the first Trump administration" and claiming he resigned "when it became impossible to do so." He also suggested the charges are part of "an intensive effort to intimidate his opponents." But Turley wasn't buying any excuses Bolton's legal team might try to float. "The question is, is it classified or not? That's why jurors tend to view these as rather cut-and-dry questions," Turley said. He added that defending the retention or transmission of classified materials as part of diary-keeping "is not gonna work either," emphasizing that classification laws apply regardless of how the material is stored or shared.

But, Bolton isn’t the only one of “Trump’s enemies” under scrutiny. There's New York Attorney General Letitia James, indicted earlier this month for mortgage fraud. And unlike the flimsy cases Democrats tried to build against Trump—including by James herself—her alleged misconduct stretches back decades with a rather damning paper trail. As far back as the early 1980s, she allegedly manipulated mortgage documents to secure favorable loan terms she didn't qualify for. She falsely listed her father as her "husband" on a 1983 mortgage application. Later, when buying Brooklyn properties, she allegedly lied about the number of units in her buildings to obtain lower residential rates while failing to meet legal rent-stabilization requirements. Over the years, these schemes reportedly allowed her to cheat banks and the system she now claims to defend.

The trail doesn't stop in New York, either. In Virginia, James allegedly pulled similar stunts, misrepresenting which properties were her primary residence to dodge loan restrictions. Each revelation paints a clearer picture of the state's top law enforcement officer potentially spending decades violating the very laws she's sworn to uphold. And if that wasn't bad enough, James is reportedly using her ill-gotten homes as sanctuaries for fugitive relatives. Her grandniece, Nakia Thompson, has been holed up at James's Norfolk, Virginia, property since 2020, rent-free, of course. She's not alone. Another fugitive relative, OnlyFans star Cayla Thompson-Hairston, is also living in one of James's homes.

The real issue here isn't that the left wants to make these case about Trump "going after his enemies,” instead of about whether they actually broke the law and whether they'll finally be held accountable for it. It doesn’t matter if it’s an “enemy” of Trump; if they broke the law, they should be held accountable, especially if there’s evidence of wrongdoing in every direction—the kind of evidence Democrats never had against Trump.
