Still, that hasn’t stopped the left’s machinery from jumping into action to rewrite the narrative. Despite clear statements from authorities, numerous figures on the left and in the media rushed to paint Robinson as a conservative Christian, an attempt to muddy the waters and protect their ideological turf.

The poll shows 24% of adults now erroneously believe Robinson is a Republican, with 40% uncertain about his political leanings. This is no small matter. It means the left understands perfectly well that if you repeat a lie often enough, a sizable part of the population will swallow it wholesale.
