Democrats have spent years insisting that words are weapons, demanding apologies, careers, and even presidencies over a single turn of phrase. Yet when the mirror flips and their own rhetoric is linked to real-world violence, the rules suddenly vanish. What was once condemned as dangerous incitement is now dismissed as harmless expression. In their world, words only matter when they can be wielded against their opponents—while Democrats conveniently grant themselves a free pass for their own incendiary rhetoric.
“In seeking Trump’s impeachment, Pelosi bellowed that the use of ‘words such as a cry ‘to fight like hell’’ produces violence and added, ‘words matter. Truth matters. Accountability matters,’” explains GWU law professor Jonathan Turley.
Yet in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, when the words and rhetoric of the left are now under tremendous scrutiny, words are suddenly irrelevant.
“People don't have any intention of saying something that's gonna lead to something dangerous, but we cannot take responsibility for the minds that are out there and how they hear it,” Nancy Pelosi said during a press conference this week.

That’s not a walk-back; it’s an escape hatch for a party that’s weaponized language while pretending to be its guardian. It’s hypocrisy so brazen, it dares anyone to notice. Democrats literally impeached President Trump because, they claimed, he incited a riot. Did it matter that Trump literally told his supporters to march to Capitol to peacefully protest? Not one bit.
ICYMI: The Left Doesn't Want You to Know the Truth About Charlie Kirk's Killer
I suppose we shouldn't be surprised. For years, Democrats have been whipping their supporters into a frenzy with dark warnings about the “death of democracy,” the urgent need to “fight back,” and how Trump and his supporters are Nazis and fascists. They’ve been playing this game for years, and the consequences are obvious. Despite repeated warnings that this kind of rhetoric risks pushing unstable supporters toward violence, Democrats didn’t slow down one bit, not even after the first assassination attempt against President Donald Trump last year. Instead, they doubled down.
It’s no mystery how Charlie Kirk’s murderer was conditioned to think conservatives are fascists. pic.twitter.com/9ZItjQE1nr

This isn’t measured political debate—it’s calculated fear-mongering designed to radicalize their base and push them to act. We know it. They know it. But in their worldview, their inciteful rhetoric is justified. And that’s the real danger here. Democrats aren’t just careless with their words—they’re deliberate.
They know exactly what they’re doing when they paint Trump as an existential threat and his supporters as enemies of the state. It’s the politics of dehumanization, the same tactic tyrants throughout history have used to justify political violence.
The left insists that Trump is Hitler reincarnated, and then shrugs when some unhinged follower takes that rhetoric to its inevitable violent conclusion. This is how assassinations are rationalized, how violence is encouraged, and how mobs are unleashed in the streets. Democrats may pretend their hands are clean, but every time they tell their supporters that democracy itself will die unless Trump is stopped, they’re not just lighting the match, they’re pouring the gasoline. When that fire burns out of control, they don’t get to walk away from the flames they ignited.
