Democrats Are Desperate To Manufacture a Trump Scandal

The Democratic Party is in absolute freefall. After losing the Oval Office, Senate, and House in the 2024 elections, its approval ratings have cratered to historic lows. Their party is fracturing from internal divisions, and they can't even capitalize on the price of eggs anymore. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has masterfully reversed Americans' outlook on the country's direction, leaving Democrats in a desperate panic. Naturally, they’re trying to manufacture a bogus scandal.

Enter Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic, the same "journalist" who brought us the thoroughly debunked "suckers and losers" hit piece and other bogus tales meant to undermine President Trump. This time, he’s claiming that top administration officials discussed classified and/or top-secret war plans in a Signal chat group that he was erroneously included in.

The chat included high-ranking officials like Mike Waltz, Marco Rubio, JD Vance, Tulsi Gabbard, and Pete Hegseth. But CNN's Scott Jennings — no Trump ally — quickly poked holes in Goldberg's narrative, revealing that Signal was preloaded on government devices before Trump's administration even took office. Even more embarrassing for the Democrats, it was Joe Biden who had previously authorized Signal for government communications, according to Sen. Tom Cotton.

Goldberg's characterization of discussing "war plans" is particularly dubious, especially since the officials demonstrated clear security awareness by referencing "high-side computers" for classified information. But facts have never been Goldberg's strong suit. This is the same guy who admitted that his infamous “suckers and losers” article was probably wrong and who published another fake story in 2024 claiming that Trump was angry over a soldier's funeral bill that he offered to pay.

The timing here is no coincidence. With Trump's second term already showing remarkable success and the Democratic Party in shambles, they're desperate to manufacture any scandal they can.

CNN’s Harry Enten reported on Tuesday that the percentage of Americans who think the country is "on the right track" under Trump is “through the roof,” and that’s a big problem for the Democrats.

“The bottom line is the percentage of Americans who say we’re on the right track is through the roof,” Enten reported. “And if you were to compare it to when presidents have historically been reelected — of course, Trump is not constitutionally eligible to run for reelection, but I think it sort of puts it in perspective — 42% of the country says the country is on the right track when the incumbent party is reelected. And also keep in mind, back when [then-Vice President] Kamala Harris lost and the Democrats were turned out of power, only about 27 to 28% of the country said the country was on the right track.”

Trump may not be able to run for reelection, but this poll tells us that the 2026 midterms could buck historical trends and be huge for the Republican Party.

This latest attempt to undermine Trump's presidency isn't just desperate; it's pathetic. While Democrats scramble to create scandals, Trump continues to deliver results that are resonating with the American people. The left's problem isn't Signal chats or egg prices; it's the complete inability to accept that voters have rejected its radical agenda.
