January 6 is about to take on a whole new meaning, and it will infuriate the left and be impossible for it to ignore. On the anniversary of the day the left labeled an “insurrection,” Congress is set to certify Donald J. Trump as the winner of the 2024 presidential election. The timing couldn’t be more symbolic or satisfying for Trump supporters, marking a victory that defies years of legal and political warfare aimed at stopping his return to power.
The left’s narrative surrounding January 6 is about to crumble under the weight of its own irony. For years, leftists and their media allies have tried to paint Jan. 6, 2021, as the darkest moment in modern American history — worse than 9/11 or the attack on Pearl Harbor. Kamala Harris even “the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War,” during her debate with Trump last year.
We’ve been listening to the Democrats’ hyperbole about Jan. 6, 2021, for four years now as they’ve tried to portray it as an insurrection. But now, we will forever associate the day with Trump’s triumphant comeback — a moment that proves the resilience of both the man and the movement he leads.
Trump’s certification is not just an official acknowledgment of his electoral victory; it’s also a victory over the left’s politicization and weaponization of the government against him. After countless investigations, impeachments, and lawsuits, the left has failed to prevent his return to office. Even congressional Democrats, who spent years branding Trump as a threat to democracy, have quietly conceded this time. While several Democrats intend to skip the inauguration, even his most ardent opponents don’t have the energy to contest the election certification the way many left-wing activists wanted them to.

While congressional Democrats know that Trump’s certification is inevitable, anti-Trump activists are already gathering at the Lincoln Memorial to demand that Congress block the certification, waving signs and shouting slogans about “insurrectionists.”
The irony is palpable. Trump’s victory and certification on this particular date are a repudiation of the narrative and a powerful statement of resilience. His return to the Oval Office signals that the country has had enough of the left’s divisive rhetoric and heavy-handed policies. All the efforts to turn January 6 into a “day of infamy” that would stop Trump’s return to the White House were for naught.
As I wrote the other day, the GOP is now solidly Trump’s party, and his unapologetic leadership style has proven to resonate with voters. His election is a rejection of corrupt, out-of-touch political elites and a rebuke of the leftist agenda that has alienated much of the nation.
Despite the predictable hysteria from the left, Trump’s focus remains on unity and prosperity. His agenda is to restore America’s strength at home and abroad while bringing economic stability back to the middle class. The voters chose bold leadership and results over radicalism and failed policies, and Trump’s certification as president marks the ultimate defeat for those who underestimated his movement.
January 6 will now stand as a day of triumph for Trump and the Make America Great Again movement.
