On Friday, Donald Trump spoke to the nation, blasting the sham trial that resulted in Trump being found guilty 34 times for a non-crime.
“They are in total conjunction with the White House and the DOJ,” Trump said. “Just so you understand, this is all done by Biden and his people."
He went on to point out that the trial was rigged against him — an assertion that experts on both sides of the aisle have agreed to. Yet, when Joe Biden spoke of the trial, he claimed the verdict was proof that the system works.
"The American principle that no one is above the law was reaffirmed," Biden claimed, without evidence.
“It’s reckless, it’s dangerous, it’s irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged just because they don’t like the verdict. Our justice system has endured for nearly 250 years, and it literally is the cornerstone of America. Our justice system, that justice should be respected. And we should never allow anyone to tear it down. It's as simple as that. That's America. That's who we are. And that's who will always be, God willing."
It's quite an ironic statement coming from Joe Biden. Biden, like most Democrats, has routinely attacked the legitimacy of the court any time it comes out with a ruling they don't like. And mere months after taking office, he signed an executive order creating a commission to examine various court reforms — including a plan to pack the court with more liberal justices in order to swing the ideological balance of the court leftward.

The Biden-approved raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in Florida, ostensibly for classified documents, seemed more like a politically motivated stunt than a legitimate law enforcement action. The lack of transparency and the heavy-handed approach raised serious questions about the impartiality of federal law enforcement under Biden. To make the situation worse, Trump was indicted for mishandling classified documents, but when it was discovered that Joe Biden had done the same thing, the same Justice Department that viciously went after Trump refused to charge Joe Biden.
And let's not forget that the biases in the justice system go way beyond the way Donald Trump was targeted. The disparate treatment of rioters from the January 6 Capitol riot compared to those involved in the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots is a glaring example of this. Not only did rioters at the Capitol face disproportionately severe consequences, but even people who just happened to be there who didn't enter the Capitol building have had the book thrown at them. Meanwhile, BLM rioters have largely not faced consequences for the billions of dollars in property damage or the deaths caused by their actions. In fact, Joe Biden praised the BLM riots as a "historic movement for justice."

Time and time again, we've seen how equal justice under the law has been superseded by a two-tiered justice system. Joe Biden's son, Hunter, has even benefited from this as well. The DOJ did everything possible to stall and obstruct investigations to protect him as DOJ prosecutors colluded with Hunter's defense to give him a sweetheart plea deal that would have given him a clean slate. Had it not been for Judge Maryellen Noreika rejecting the absurd plea deal, Hunter Biden wouldn't be going on trial next week.
The reason Joe Biden claims the justice system isn't rigged is because he has benefited from it.
