Why Aren't Reporters Asking Democrats If They Will Accept the Election Results If Trump Wins?

My social media feeds have been flooded with videos and posts from left-wing accounts accusing Republicans of not committing to accepting the 2024 presidential elections, no matter what happens.

Earlier this month, Meet the Press host Kristen Welker asked Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) if he would accept the results of the 2024 election no matter what.

“At the end of the day, the 47th president of the United States will be President Donald Trump, and I’m excited to get back to low inflation, low unemployment,” Scott answered.

“Wait, wait, senator. Yes or no; yes or no," Welker asked. "Will you accept the election results of 2024, no matter who wins?”

“That is my statement,” Scott replied, and Welker was naturally not willing to accept that, and kept pressing on it.

For starters, it's a weird question to be asking of a Republican right now considering that Donald Trump is the one leading in the polls and appears to be on the path to victory. Are Democrats facing the same question right now? It doesn't look like it to me.

Welker, for her part, has asked the question again, but once again, to a Republican. On Sunday's episode of Meet The Press, Welker asked Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) "Will you accept the election results in 2024 no matter what happens?"

“No matter what happens? No, if it’s an unfair election I think it’s going to be contested on either side,” Rubio pointed out.

“No matter who wins,” Welker clarified.

Rubio saw where this was headed, and he shot back by pointing out which party is actually the party that routinely contests elections.

“I think you’re asking the wrong person. The Democrats are the ones who have opposed every Republican victory since 2000, every single one," he pointed out.

Welker didn't like getting schooled like that and continued to press Rubio on whether he would accept the election results, pointing out that Hillary Clinton conceded after Trump won in 2016. However, Rubio pointed out that she has since repeatedly claimed that the election was stolen and that Trump was an illegitimate president, as have other Democrats.

He also pointed out that Democrats objected to counting Ohio's electoral votes in 2004, and a majority of Democrats have hinted that they will not certify the results if Trump wins, and some are still trying to boot him off the ballot.

"So you need to ask them," Rubio told her. "Have you ever asked a Democrat this question on your show? I bet you—you’ve never asked a Democrat that question.”

Everything Rubio said was correct, though the liberal media refuses to admit it. Even Joe Biden has suggested that both George W. Bush and Trump were illegitimately elected. Welker can try to split hairs over conceding an election, but Clinton's 2016 concession is irrelevant given her subsequent false claims that the election was stolen. The same goes for John Kerry's 2004 concession, as he has also claimed over the years that the election was stolen from him. So we need to see more Democrats put on record on the issue of accepting the election results.
