We cannot overstate just how much Democrats were counting on Joe Biden's State of the Union address to change the state of the presidential campaign. Democrats were literally citing the speech during Robert Hur’s testimony before Congress on Tuesday, claiming that it was proof that his assessment of Joe Biden’s poor memory was flat-out wrong.
We all saw the angry partisan speech and watched as Democrats humiliated themselves as they gushed at how wonderful was, and the media followed suit. I suppose the lesson is that when you have to try so hard to craft a narrative for the public, you’re losing the messaging war, because, as we previously reported, Joe Biden got no bump in the polls from the speech.
Of course, that was just one poll.
There have actually been four polls since Biden’s “fiery” State of the Union speech, and Trump is beating him in all of them.

Trump also leads in three-way match-up polling that includes Robert F. Kennedy Jr. with a +4.3-point average lead and in five-way match-up polling that also includes Cornel West and Jill Stein, where Trump has an average lead of +2.7 points.
Meanwhile, Biden’s post-State of the Union approval ratings are the worst of any modern-day president.

Don't forget how much Biden’s team hyped up the State of the Union address as a make-or-break moment for him and his campaign, but there’s also the mainstream media’s collected effort to push the narrative that the speech was the political equivalent of a grand slam, touchdown, goal, and a slam dunk all at once. They said so because they wanted to believe it, and from their perspective, it needed to be true because Biden is in serious political trouble.
One of the advantages of the presidency is the unique ability to have some control of the news, and Biden’s nationally televised address to the nation — which was basically a campaign speech disguised as a State of the Union address — couldn’t move the needle in his favor.

You better believe that the White House and the Biden campaign did everything possible to make the speech a game-changer for Biden. However, despite their best efforts, the speech failed to deliver the decisive campaign reset they had hoped for.
This underscores the broader challenge facing Joe Biden and his campaign the uphill battle to regain momentum in the face of his failed presidency. As the dust settles, it's clear that while Joe Biden may have the power of the presidency at his disposal, it pales in comparison to the power of the people, who aren’t buying the narrative he or the liberal media are pushing.
This is a huge problem for Joe Biden. If he can't move the needle when he has a captive audience, how can he during the campaign?
In short, the state of the Biden campaign is not good.
