Trump Support from Black Voters Up Despite Media and Democrat Smears

In recent weeks, Trump’s comments about “The Squad” and the rat-infested conditions of Baltimore have been labeled racist by the Democratic Party and the media. In fact, during the CNN Democrat debates, CNN’s Don Lemon, making no attempt to be neutral, referred to “the president’s racist tweets attacking Baltimore and Congressman Elijah Cummings,” and accused Trump of “pursuing an election strategy based in part on racial division,” as if those statements are indisputable facts.

Well, apparently, the black community wasn’t buying the narrative, but Trump’s support from black voters is actually up. “This week’s surveying for the Rasmussen Report’s daily Presidential Tracking Poll has found a bump in black support for the president. Even with the +/-9 margin of error for the smaller sample, it’s a bump that has held up nearly all week.” Rasmussen does note, however, that “It’s way too soon to say whether this is a temporary blip on the radar or whether Trump is on to something.”

Another Rasmussen poll found that 59% of likely voters “don’t consider supporters of President Trump to be racist, but half of Democrats do.” Only 29 percent believe the statement to true, which is primarily due to the fact that 49 percent of Democrats believe Trump supporters are, by default, racist.

The most interesting thing about this poll is the demographic breakdown:

Only 41 percent of black voters, who are overwhelmingly Democrat believe that Trump voters are racist, which is less than Democrats as a whole. Democrats as a whole are the only group that has a plurality of likely voters who agree with the statement that Trump supporters are racist. Every other group, male and female, age group, and race have a plurality or majority who do not believe Trump supporters are racist. This speaks volumes about white Democrats and racial politics.
