Christie Brinkley Models for Sports Illustrated with Her Daughters

Christie Brinkley, at the age of 63, still looks flawless. The former supermodel, who seemingly never ages, recently participated in a photo shoot that was unlike any other throughout her long career.

Brinkley was the face of Cover Girl for 25 years, and has appeared on the cover of at least 500 magazines. She has also worked as an actress in her life. Her first role was in National Lampoon’s Vacation in 1983. Brinkley had initially launched her career by appearing on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue for three consecutive years (1979, 1980, and 1981). It was the first time a model had ever been awarded that honor. But nearly forty years later, the blond beauty modeled for another SI shoot—this time with her daughters.

Alexa Ray Joel, 31 (daughter of Billy Joel), and Sailor Lee Brinkley Cook, 18 (daughter of Peter Cook), got the chance to model in swimsuits on the beach with their mom for the iconic magazine. Christie, unsurprisingly, was thrilled about the opportunity.

“Sailor has always wanted to do this. And Alexa, she just couldn’t imagine that that would ever happen. And they’re both just loving it,” said Brinkley.

In an interview, Sailor referred to her older sister as “…amazing. We are polar opposites.”

Alexa added: “We are so different. I always say that she’s the sunshine to my moon…As a family we’re obsessed with each other. We just enjoy each other’s company. It’s just a really fun dynamic and bonding time for all of us.”

The love fest of a photo shoot certainly looked like fun as the three beautiful women, who clearly adore each other, modeled together for the first time in swimsuits.

There are days you will remember your whole life. This was one of them. Thank you @mj_day, and Sports Illustrated…

During the shoot a teary Brinkley had this to say:

This is a real full circle moment for me. I can get really emotional about this. How many years ago I was that insecure girl, and hoping that I would be good enough for the magazine. So to see my daughters now, having the same thoughts that I had, and to see them actually be there on the job, definitely a big moment.
