When Bekah Martinez’s mother feared her daughter was missing, it turns out all she had to do was turn on her television. The young woman had informed her mother back in November that she was going to Humboldt, Calif., to work on a marijuana farm. After her mom didn’t hear from her for six days, she listed Bekah on the Humboldt County Missing Person’s database. When someone saw a photo of the 22-year-old on the local news, they called the police. It turns out that Bekah wasn’t missing after all. In fact, she was front and center and visible to the entire world as a contestant on the wildly popular show, The Bachelor. Of all the places to find a missing person, huh?
Twitter, of course, had a field day with this one:
It turns out Rebekah Martinez, on the Attorney General's missing persons database, isn't missing. She's just been on #TheBachelor.

This is peak #TheBachelor. Not even I could make this up. Yes, that’s Bekah M.
TL,DR: a 22 year-old woman was reported missing by her mom from a marijuana farm in Humboldt County. They found her on The Bachelor. https://t.co/2QqmcNWL33 pic.twitter.com/gzqy9CWwds

Which is worse news for your parents? Working on a pot farm or being on a reality show?
According to the timeline, Becka went "missing" when she told her mom in Nov she was going to work on a marijuana farm & wasn't heard from
Takeaway: it is more acceptable to tell your mom you are going to work on a marijuana farm than to tell her you're a bachelor contestant https://t.co/1w3QNZhBVJ

Come ON, mom!
MOM. how many times do I have to tell you I don’t get cell service on The Bachelor?? https://t.co/iYnxQCIZBt

And yes, it’s probably a good thing that the local police were looking everywhere but national television:
I would also like to say how proud I am to have proof our local law enforcement doesn’t watch The Bachelor.

Even Bekah herself had a huge sense of humor about the incident. Wouldn’t it be a shame if your driver’s license photo was splashed all over the news and social media?
honestly the scariest thing about this story is that my efforts to conceal The Worst Drivers License Photo Of All Time have been thwarted https://t.co/z0venho66p
