To this day, 20 years after her passing, Princess Diana continues to be a mysterious and iconic figure. With the anniversary of her death approaching at the end of August, private recordings of the royal are about to air.
In 1992 and 1993, the princess worked closely with voice coach Peter Settelen. He helped her improve her public speaking, but in the process recorded hours upon hours of their conversations.
In a documentary set to air on Sunday in the UK (August 14 in the U.S.), the princess uncovers intimate information about her and Prince Charles’s sex life. She also reveals that her own family didn’t truly love her.
According to the Mirror,
Asked about her sexual relationship with Charles, Diana replies: “Well there was. There was, there was.
“But it was odd. Very odd. It was there then it fizzled out about seven years ago. Six years? Well, seven was Harry, it’s eight.
“There was never a requirement for it from his case. Sort of a once every three weeks look about it…And then I followed a pattern.
“He used to see his lady once every three weeks. Before we got married.”
Diana also talks about her husband’s affair with his now wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
She tells Settelen: “I remember saying to my husband, you know, ‘Why, why is this lady around?’
“And he said, ‘Well, I refuse to be the only Prince of Wales who never had a mistress’.’’

In one tape segment Diana is seen sitting in an armchair at Kensington Palace talking about the collapse of her 11-year marriage to Charles.
She says: “There was just nobody to…to physically scream at, or someone to put their arms around me and just listen.
“My parents never said they loved me.’’
The tapes had aired in America in 2004 when Settelen sold the footage to NBC News (after previously promising that he would never do so). Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell, is speaking out against the upcoming UK broadcast of Diana: In Her Own Words, calling it “seedy.”
