Satanic Minnesota State Prof/Sex Therapist Claims God Raped Mary

In what may be the ultimate “bah, humbug!” tweet of this Christmas season, Dr. Eric Sprankle tweeted, “The virgin birth story is about an all-knowing, all-powerful deity impregnating a human teen. There is no definition of consent that would include that scenario. Happy Holidays.”

A quick review of Dr. Sprankle’s Twitter feed reveals that the Minnesota State University professor and sex therapist is a vocal defender of aberrant sexual expressions. In fact, his Twitter bio boasts that he defends the rights of sex workers. Revealing more information about his work at Minnesota State University, his website’s bio says that Sprankle “currently leads the Sexual Health Research Team at MSU examining sex work stigma, the effects of sexually explicit material, older adult sexuality, and the intersections of sexual health and genital piercings.”

Among his *cough* “academic” pursuits, Dr. Sprankle also appears to be a Satanist. Not only does his Twitter feed contain many retweets and positive references to Satanism, his bio includes the word “Satanas.” Scroll through his feed and decide if I’ve unfairly impugned Sprankle as a Satanist.

Regardless, and circling back to his tweet about Mary not giving consent, Dr. Sprankle is denying Mary the right to speak for herself. In fact, this so-called defender of body autonomy and consent deigns to speak for a woman in a way that shuts her down and forces his own narrative on her. Don’t believe me? Read Mary’s own words recorded in Luke chapter 1:

And Mary said,

“My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate;
he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”

Contrary to Dr. Sprankle’s defamatory claims, Mary considered her pregnancy a blessing and rejoiced that God had chosen her for such a momentous task. She goes so far as to claim, “From now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me.”

Dr. Sprankle not only falls outside of how Mary wanted future generations to view her, but the Minnesota State University professor has called evil what Mary herself said is a “great thing.” If anyone is guilty of violating Mary, it’s Dr. Eric Sprankle.
