The Taliban encouraged Donald Trump to butt out of Afghanistan lest he damage American “prestige” around the world with losses at the hands of the terror group.
“The result of U.S. election shows that Republican presidential candidate – Donald Trump – has been successful,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement Wednesday.
“Our message is that he should give U.S. government a policy of not depriving freedom of other nations of the world and should not seek American interests in the destruction and conviction of other nations, so to make the world safer and end the ongoing crisis.”
“Most importantly, he should withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan, and unlike other former U.S. rulers, he should neither seek any more titles of ignominy for his self and American generals, nor worsen the American prestige, economy and military by engaging in this futile war,” Mujahid added.
Two were killed and dozens injured Thursday in a Taliban suicide car bombing outside the German consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif in what the terror group claimed was revenge for a U.S. airstrike in Kunduz.
The U.S. Embassy in Kabul also took the step — unusual in its details — of warning U.S. citizens about “a possible pending attack targeting foreigners at the Serena Hotel and a guest house located in PD-10 Kabul City.” The Serena, the top luxury hotel in Kabul, has heavy security but was attacked in 2014.
“The attack may be carried out by multiple suicide bombers at each location,” the warning continued.
Al-Qaeda-linked jihadi theorist Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi tweeted to more than 56,ooo followers the morning after the election that “Trump’s term may be the beginning of America’s fragmentation and the era of its breakup.”
Al-Maqdisi added that Trump’s election “reveals the true mentality of the Americans, and their racism toward Muslims and Arabs and everything.”
“He reveals what his predecessors used to conceal. So his victory further exposes America and its appendages,” he tweeted.
Hamza al-Karibi, a spokesman for Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, or the terrorists formerly known as the Nusra Front, tweeted that “Trump’s victory is a powerful slap to those promoting the benefits of democratic mechanisms.”
You’d think the Islamic State would be running with that, considering their pre-election voters guide that said both candidates were unacceptable and justified killing anyone, but especially Muslims, who cast a ballot because they were participating in democracy.
But aside from some ISIS fanboys on Twitter, there’s been no official mention of the election results from the terror group.
ISIS published their weekly newspaper, al-Naba, as scheduled Thursday, but there was no mention of Trump within its 16 pages.
They have not yet published their monthly Rumiyah magazine, which should have come out last week.
The election is being discussed in chatrooms of both al-Qaeda and ISIS supporters, as captured by SITE Intel Group.
One such conversation included a user saying jihadists needed the country to “be delivered to a donkey like Trump who will destroy it.”
“The world is going to experience a change, and this change will put Islam in the leadership position as the end result,” the chatroom user said. “In fact, the election of Trump is but an indication of the end of the American empire, so that it draws its last breath at the hands of this fool.”
Abdallah Muhammad Bin-Sulayman al-Muhaysini, a Jabhat Fateh al-Sham leader, was sanctioned today by the Treasury Department for recruiting — including thousands of child soldiers — and fundraising for the group.
He also tweeted about Trump today, calling his election an “important step toward victory.”
Al-Muhaysini said Trump would cut down on their recruiting time in trying to explain that America is waging a war against Islam, not terrorism.
“The American policy will not change a lot,” the terror leader predicted. “What’s been changed was the method of war tactics from the secret to the declared… and this is good.”
“Obama depends on the harmonization and the containment in America’s internal affairs, and Trump depends on the exclusion and the abolition of his violators… may Allah increase their separation.”
