It’s that time of year again, the beginning of June when ASICS comes out with their new running shoe. This year it’s the ASICS Womens Gel-Kayano 25.
Each June, I go out and check out the latest pair hoping that it will be better than the year before. Last year, the Gel-Kayano 24 Running Shoe was so good, I bought three pairs because I was sure this year’s shoe would not be as good; I was wrong. It’s better.
First of all, the color selection is much nicer. I bought this pair of black ones with a light blue stripe which gives some color but keeps the shoe neutral so you can wear it with anything and not have a loud pair of running shoes that can be seen from miles away.
Second, it has more support in the heels (and also makes you taller!) with the added height. The shoe is much more comfortable (at least to me) as a result.
And finally, even with the extra support, it is lighter so that it feels better on your feet and makes you want to run (not that I do, I mostly walk). Overall, it’s a great shoe if you tend to be a pronator and need a lot of stability for your feet. ASICS, of course, has a men’s version too.
If you want to know more, here is a a description of the shoe::
