Boy, the left has gotten bold in threatening the right.
Thankfully, this guy was prevented from carrying out a threat he made to the campaign office of Eric Hovde (R), who is running to replace Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.) up in the Badger State.
Mr. Joseph Quade of Mount Horeb, outside Madison, apparently emailed the campaign earlier in April, leaving a voice message all but threatening to blow up Hovde's campaign office.
"Hey (EH), you think your building might blow up tomorrow? I don’t think you should have any of your people come to work," Quade supposedly said in the message according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
However, Quade claimed he did not remember making the threat, saying he "gets political" after having a few drinks, meaning he must have threatened Hovde while drunk.
I am willing to believe him, but Quade is 72 years old, which just makes this story worth talking about. I know plenty of older people still drink (my grandparents are 90), but nobody over 50 that I know still gets drunk enough to threaten a political figure publicly.
What makes it less surprising, however, is that Quade has donated to Senator Baldwin's reelection campaign, according to Fox News. Granted, it wasn't much, around $100, but Quade is facing 3.5 years for his supposedly drunken stupidity, and a Baldwin campaign spokesman said they will donate that money to charity.
Hope it was worth it, buddy.
Of course, an older man drunkenly threatening a Republican running for office isn't much, but this Wisconsin incident is another example of how emboldened the left has become to openly threaten and carry out violence against their enemies in recent weeks.
I have written about several similar incidents just this April, mainly involving the pro-Hamas crowd being whipped up into an antisemitic frenzy as Israel seeks to wipe out Hamas.
If you would like a refresher, we had grad student Hamza El Boudali openly call for President Biden's death, pro-Hamas protesters harassing people at a Biden campaign event in New York City, another mob storm the Senate cafeteria, some crazy lady in Bakersfield openly threaten the city council with death for not being pro-Hamas enough, and people publicly shouting "Death to America" and "Death to Israel" in Dearborn, Michigan, and New York City, the latter during a series of coordinated protests blocking traffic in major cities.

But worst of all was what my good friend Lincoln Brown detailed. One of the leaders of the antisemitic Columbia protests in support of Hamas, Khymani James, said on social media that "Zionists don't deserve to live," and what made it scarier compared to other instances was how calmly and rationally he explained why.
As Brown noted, while there may be cases of people like Quade or some of these pro-Hamas protesters who are drunk, overcome with emotion, or just plain dumb, "one should bear in mind that the people mentoring them and spurring them on mean business."

And what are the odds they will make their business known soon?
