Well Played, Augusta, Well Played

“The Nation: Condoleezza Rice Is Wrong Kind of Female to Break Gender Barrier at Augusta National,” Matt Welch writes at Reason.

So only women of the right (read: left) politics need be admitted there, to satisfy the left on an issue that only they care about. And Augusta had to know this is exactly the reaction they’d get from the churlish, identity politics-obsessed left by picking Condi as the first woman admitted there. Very well played, indeed.

Speaking of which, in his segment on Augusta, NBC and Golf Digest forget how the Berlin Wall used to work. But hey, “No one understands this NASCAR nation more than Brian!”
