Bring the 'Prompter, Pass the Popcorn

Newt brings the snark — this is how you do it:

“I already said that if he wants to use a teleprompter, then it would be fine with me. It has to be fair. If you [were] to defend ObamaCare, wouldn’t you want a teleprompter?” Gingrich asked.

“Now, in just for a second I’m going to go in the detour and I’ll try to explain why I’ve been and he’ll say yes. There are two reasons. The first, is either. Can you imagine him looking in the mirror? Graduate from Columbia, Harvard Law, editor of the Law Review journal. [Against] the greatest articulator in a Democratic book?”

“How is he going to say that he’s afraid to be on the same podium as a West Georgia College student?”

Since the president has been compared to JFK, FDR and Lincoln — and all before taking office! — and has admitted that he believes his own (self-described) “bulls***,” as well as that produced about him by his supine media, why would he refuse?

Meanwhile regarding Mitt Romney, as Professor William A. Jacobson writes at his Legal Insurrection blog, Democrat apparatchik Tad Devine “occupies a special place in the Saturday Night Card Game as having fired the first preemptive race card shot of the 2012 election,” as the left’s racialist Bletchley Park swings back into action for the 2012 election:

So too does The Hill blogger David Di Martino who took Devine’s accusations and ran with them in a blog post:

Even though Romney apparently approved of the message in the ad, it is unlikely he’s very comfortable with this strategy. The ad, with its intentional misrepresentations and stealth nod to racism, betrays Romney’s squeaky-clean image that he has spent decades grooming.

Memo to Tad Devine and David Di Martino:  If a rock from 1984 and a dinner from 1997 are on the table, so too are Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, and the vast emptiness of Obama’s narrative.

Back in mid-October of 2008, British journalist Melanie Phillips observed in the UK Spectator:

You have to pinch yourself – a Marxisant radical who all his life has been mentored by, sat at the feet of, worshipped with, befriended, endorsed the philosophy of, funded and been in turn funded, politically promoted and supported by a nexus comprising black power anti-white racists, Jew-haters, revolutionary Marxists, unrepentant former terrorists and Chicago mobsters, is on the verge of becoming President of the United States. And apparently it’s considered impolite to say so.

The JournoList, the self-described “non-official campaign” to elect Obama president helped make that possible. As Jacobson wrote yesterday, the left’s attempt “to suppress legitimate political expression through false accusations of racism will not work this time, unlike in 2008.”
