It’s oddly reassuring in one sense; Morgan Freeman, Hollywood’s go-to guy to play God, definitely believes in a higher power:
“What I wanted to tell [Obama] is to get pissed off, get fighting mad,” the actor told the paper. “But I know he won’t because he doesn’t think it’s politically smart.”
On Obama’s chances for reelection, Freeman added, “If I could vote for him 1,000 times, I would.”
“I think he’s been horribly sandbagged, and it makes me so angry,” he said.
And thus pop culture comes full circle: the actor who got his big break on PBS’s The Electric Company is ready to go to bat for the president who’s determined to turn off America’s power, both figuratively, and literally.
