Dangerous DC Elites Break Up the Dog Days of Summer

Back in January, the MSM and other prominent Democrats told us that clip art and harsh language can be deadly weapons. So why is Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) spouting equally dangerous eliminationist rhetoric?

Especially on MSNBC, where such language presumably would cause elder Democratic statesman Chris Matthews to say…

Right Chris?

(Or maybe Hoyer’s simply a big Peter Fonda fan.)

Meanwhile, they told Glenn Reynolds that if he voted for John McCain, senior politicians would be questioning the voters’ patriotism. And they were right!

Of course, Sen. Reid (D-NV) often has a dearth of imagination in this area. Perhaps he simply misspoke? Wouldn’t be the first time, shocking though that may seem.

Update: Now is the time when reader James A. juxtaposes:

Harry Reid (August 2011): “Boehner’s plan is not a compromise. It was written for the tea pary, not the American people.”

Harry Reid (January 2011): “Speaking slowly and deliberately on the Senate floor, Reid said the issue of civility ‘goes beyond inflammatory rhetoric or hate speech. It also means not questioning each other’s motives, or calling into question the patriotism of a colleague.’” (PoliticsDaily.com Jan 25, 2011 article)

That last item is titled, “Senate Leader Harry Reid Urging More Respect: ‘I Intend to Do My Part.'”

Sounds good, Harry. When would you like to begin?
