Meanwhile, Back at the Tyrell Corporation...

The Rhetorican links to a pretty nifty video that seamlessly dissolves between location shots from the movie Blade Runner, and how they look today in real-life Los Angeles (or as close to real-life as Los Angeles ever gets):

Back in early 2001, I interviewed Syd Mead, the film's production designer, for an article I wrote for an electronic hobbyist magazine, a copy of which is still online at a Blade Runner fan club site. And for some examples of Mead's output from his original job as a futuristic designer for the auto industry and US Steel, click here and just keep scrolling; it's wonderful, awe-inspiring stuff.

Related: But remember folks, it's only just a movie.

(Unlike Galaxy Quest, of course.)
