Also Just In: Large Glowing Celestial Orb Sets In Western Hemisphere

The Weekly Standard’s Emily Esfahani Smith reports, “Rod Blagojevich Makes a Fool of Himself”:

In a story that will appear in the February issue of Esquire magazine, which will hit stands on January 19, Rod Blagojevich says,

It’s such a cynical business, and most of the people in the business are full of [expletive] and phonies, but I was real, man–and am real. This guy, he was catapulted in on hope and change, what we hope the guy is. What the [expletive]? Everything he’s saying’s on the teleprompter. I’m blacker than Barack Obama. I shined shoes. I grew up in a five-room apartment. My father had a little laundromat in a black community not far from where we lived. I saw it all growing up.

Though he admitted today that his comment was “stupid, stupid, stupid,” unlike Reid, Blagojevich will not directly apologize to the president: “I’d be happy to but, you know, I don’t have the phone number.”

No word yet on whether Blagojevich plans to apologize to Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan for calling her a four-letter word used to describe female anatomy in the same interview: “how much do I love the people of Illinois to make that [expletive] senator?” In the same apology, Blagojevich seems merely to have forgotten dropping the c-word. “I don’t think I said that.”
