A Psychologist Knows Nothing About a Polygraph?

As I watched Dr. Ford be interviewed by Rachel Mitchell about the polygraph, I noticed how nervous Ford was and how little she knows about a polygraph. The woman is a psychologist and knows nothing about a polygraph? She said that a machine was placed near her with wires and acted very naive about what it does and what to expect.

What PhD psychologist knows nothing about polygraphs? The American Psychological Association has been writing about them for years and many psychologists do not believe in their use. Why is she so in the dark about them? Is this to make herself seem childlike and innocent? Or is she that naive and uninformed?
