Former Vice President Joe Biden promised attendees at the “Poor People’s Campaign Presidential Forum” Monday afternoon that the first thing he would do as president is get rid of President Trump’s tax cut. Because raising your taxes will help “eliminate poverty.”

Biden was among several 2020 Democrat presidential contenders at a presidential forum in Washington, D.C., where “low-income Americans” asked the candidates questions about their plans to address racism and poverty.

“How are we going to immediately and fully — not incrementally — eliminate poverty,” one of the panelists asked Biden.

“Number one — we have the greatest income inequity in the history of the United States of America since 1902,” Biden began. “And the fact of the matter is, there is plenty –plenty! — of money to go around. The first thing I would do as president is eliminate the president’s tax cut,” Biden vowed.

The forum was moderated by MSNBC’s Joy Reid.

Biden’s remark about there being “plenty of money to go around” is disturbingly reminiscent of the socialist argument former President Obama made to a plumber named Joe Wurzelbacher in  2008.

“If you’ve got a plumbing business, you’re gonna be better off if you’ve got a whole bunch of customers who can afford to hire you, and right now everybody’s so pinched that business is bad for everybody, and I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody,” Obama said, making many Americans nervous at the time about his wealth-redistribution plans for the nation.

Under Obama’s redistributionist regime, economic growth stagnated for eight long years, failing to achieve three percent annual growth even once. As Professor of Finance Michael Busler noted here at PJ Media, President Trump has managed to achieve “sustained three percent growth, record low unemployment, higher wages, low inflation, and more opportunity” even while facing severe anti-Trump headwinds from the Democrat Media Complex.

Now 2020 Democrats, led by Biden, are promising to bring Obama’s ruinous tax and spend policies back. This is why the media’s been working so hard to rewrite Obama’s poor economic history.
