Project Veritas this week released two bombshell videos exposing Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) as a duplicitous schemer out to dupe moderate Missouri voters. In response, the senator went on the offensive, falsely accusing her Republican opponent Josh Hawley for being part of James O’Keefe’s sting operation.

Part One revealed how McCaskill’s reelection campaign hides her liberal views on guns, her strong support for Barack Obama, and her desire to impeach President Trump should Democrats win the majority in the Senate.  “People just can’t know that,” one staffer told the Project Veritas undercover journalist. And despite McCaskill’s public pose that she’s a border hawk, her staff said, “Claire is not in favor of building the wall at all. She’s said that’s a really f***ing stupid idea.”

Part Two, released Wednesday, exposed how the McCaskill campaign accepts Planned Parenthood donations “indirectly” to avoid alienating moderate or pro-life voters.

McCaskill on Tuesday responded to the Project Veritas’ first video in an interview with KOLR10 News: “It is startling that Josh Hawley would be part of fraudulently embedding somebody in my campaign,” she declared.

“He is the attorney general of the state of Missouri. He’s supposed to be going after fraud, not participating in it,” McCaskill continued. “I have been very upfront about all my positions,” she added disingenuously.

“I’ve never seen that in a U.S. Senate campaign before in the state of Missouri.”

O’Keefe categorically denied having anything to do with the Hawley campaign.

“I’ve never met him, he doesn’t work for me. We don’t talk to any candidates at Project Veritas Action — we only investigate candidates,” he insisted. “This is an absolutely false statement. Period. And it’s outrageous that she would make a factually untrue statement like this with no evidence on television.”

The Hawley campaign called the allegation “absurd.”

McCaskill should retract her slanderous statement and offer Hawley an apology, but as 2018 Democrats have become the party of false accusations based on zero evidence, he shouldn’t hold his breath waiting for one.
