A crazed squirrel went on an angry rampage inside a senior center activity room Thursday, injuring at least three people.
The attack happened Thursday at Sterling Court Gracious Retirement Living in Deltona, Florida.
Via CBS News:
A 911 caller told dispatchers that the squirrel had gotten into the building and was jumping on people, biting them and scratching them. The caller said at least three people were bitten.
During the more than three-minute call, the animal was eventually tossed outside.
An ambulance arrived to treat those who were injured, but no one was taken to the hospital. As of Thursday night, those who were attacked by the squirrel were doing well and had not reported any symptoms of rabies.
An animal bite expert followed up at the facility on Friday.

“We have a squirrel that’s entered our building and…(startled gasp)…and it’s in our activity room and it’s jumping on people and biting them and scratching them…so we need help…” said a shaken employee at the senior center. One of the victims was “bleeding a little uncontrollably” the employee told the 911 dispatcher.
The squirrel was apprehended and thrown outside while the employee was on the phone. It’s unclear if it was recaptured or allowed to scamper away.
